My Life – Childhood

My Life 1 – Childhood

Sebestyén’s story follows the life of an ordinary boy from the outskirts of Budapest, growing up in the 20th district. His father works as an electrician, and his mother manages residential buildings. He also has a younger brother, two years his junior.

The story takes place in the late 1980s and early 1990s, a time of great change. Socialism is fading, and capitalism is emerging. Through Sebestyén’s daily life, the transition period comes alive, shaping his personality and character.

Political shifts, societal changes, and family struggles all influence his inner world. The story captures how these challenges impact a young boy’s development. Many will see fragments of their own experiences in Sebestyén’s journey, especially those who grew up in a similar era.

Yet, this is still his story.
